From Nice airport, Isola 2000 is an hour and forty-five minutes away. It is the closest ski area to an international airport in Europe, and it makes possible what you cannot do anywhere else: ski in the morning and have lunch facing the sea.
These mountain roads are beautiful but demanding — hairpins, snow, tunnels. They put off most hire-car drivers. We drive them all season, in properly equipped vehicles.
