Grasse has been making perfume since the eighteenth century and still supplies the great French houses. The three historic perfumeries can be visited free of charge, and each runs workshops where you compose your own bottle.
The town is forty minutes from Cannes along hill roads. It makes an ideal half-day, often combined with a hilltop village on the way back.

The creation workshop is what guests talk about most afterwards. It lasts an hour and must be booked ahead — tell us and we handle it. The factory tour itself needs no booking.

No. The guided factory tours at Fragonard, Molinard and Galimard are free. Only the creation workshops are charged, at around €60 per person.
May for the centifolia rose, July and August for jasmine. Outside those months the fields rest, but the perfumeries are open all year.
